Church of Saint Mary of Peace

The intervention concerned the refurbishment, the reinforcement and the re-building of the main parts of the church of Saint Mary of Peace.

The church shows an octagonal drawing and the intervention affected, on one hand, walls and related elements and, on the other hand, the whole structure of the church, which was reinforced by the use of carbon fibre brackets.

In relation to walls, all the broken and damaged parts were fixed by the use of specific materials known as compatible with the already existing materials of the walls. The different situations affecting various parts of the walls implied the adoption of distinguished strategies, on one hand the complete re-building of the wall, on the other hand a less-invasive intervention of consolidating material injections.
